Organizational Structure of DIET
As one of the measures taken for bringing about qualitative improvement of elementary education in general and teacher education in particular, NPE (1986) envisaged the establishment of DIET, a district level teacher education institution each in all districts of the country. Consequently, the year 1988 witnessed the establishment of DIETs with the main function entrusted upon them to provide both pre-service and in-service teacher education
